About

The Biophysics Instrumentation Core (BIC) Facility provides access to trained technical staff and sophisticated instrumentation dedicated to characterizing biomolecular conformations and interactions. Instrumentation is also available for isolation and purification of macromolecules for subsequent detailed biophysical analysis.

Located in Stepan Chemistry Hall, the facility houses 13 instruments that were acquired from National Institutes of Health S10 Instrumentation Program grants, internal Equipment Restoration and Renewal grants, new faculty capitalization, and donations. The BIC Facility is open to Notre Dame researchers, as well as outside academic and industry researchers. The BIC is a CTSI designated core facility.

The facility was established in fall 2018 with support from Notre Dame Research, the College of Science, and the College of Engineering.
